Grant Winkelbauer finished 6th at the Nebraska state geography bee last Friday.

Only 100 students qualified for the state geography bee by First winning their own school bee and then by scoring the highest on an world geography exam

over 11,000 students began the competition at the school bee level.

Grant was went 9 for 9 answering questions in the first round of competition which qualified him for the finals where he was guaranteed a top ten finish. He beat out four of the top ten to finish 6th overall.

Grant has qualified for the state bee four years in a row but this was his first top ten finish.

Today: Boys Golf at Ord – 10:00 a.m. 11:30 a.m. dismissal (we are having periods 4-5-6-7). Teacher In-service from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Knox County Track Invite at Creighton – 1:30 p.m. (leave at 11:45 am).

Wednesday, April 5th: All School Mass – 8:10 a.m. (we will run the 1-4-5 schedule).

Thursday, April 6th: Senior will be gone on their trip.

Volleyball will have open gym at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 6th.

Friday, April 7th: Cardinal Pride Day. Stations of the Cross in church – 3:00 p.m. (students need to sit with their “House”).

Saturday, April 8th: State National History Day in Lincoln. Boys Golf (JV) at Plainview – 8:30 a.m. (leave at 6:30 am).

If anyone would be interested in singing for First Communion on April 30th at the 9:30 a.m. Mass, please see Mrs. Fuchser this week. You need to be able to commit to several practices.
